Paintball zombies!

Now this is an awesome idea! What better way to train for the zombie apocalypse than by running around in a forest at night being chased by zombie actors and armed with a paintball gun?

Zombie Combat Zone is the brainchild of Ron McCall and he describes it as:

“A fight for your life through a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE!!! Located on 57 acres of insanely creepy forest in south Langley, ZOMBIE COMBAT ZONE is North America’s most authentic Zombie scenario. Upon arrival you will undergo a crash course bootcamp including a briefing on the situation, weapons training, then time to suit up and head out into the zone. Your mission – locate and rescue a group of missing scientists and discover the cause of the outbreak and if possible…stop the plague.”

Armed only with a paintball gun and all the guts you can muster, Zombie Combat Zone will push you to the edge….and maybe over!

If you get 12 of your buddies involved, then it works out at a pretty reasonable $50 each.

The zombies are of course played by actors (unless Ron has a side job as an evil scientist who creates zombies in his lair) and there was a job posting put out around Vancouver looking for individuals to come and dress up as zombies at “Canada’s first and only zombie themed-paintball park” offering $13 per hour and working from Thursday to Saturday dusk til 1am.

Ron says “It’s like interactive dinner theatre except you gets to shoot the actors”.

If that promo video isn’t enough, check out this inside look at the Zombie Combat Zone experience.

Unfortunately for us, this is located near Vancouver, Canada, so if you did go to this or are planning to then please get in touch so we can put your photos and review live on the site!

These Resident Evil octopus zombies are quite a cool variant on the traditional zombie and definitely play on the classic fear of Alien’s facehuggers. Somehow though the computer generated effects of it and the fact that it’s tentacles and not clawing fingers and teeth that are trying to get you don’t make it as scary.

Let’s face it, when the zombie virus actually hits society you are more likely to become a zombie than a survivor. Unless of course you form your own zombie action plan, but if you don’t then you’re going to join the hordes of undead.

So, as a way to harden up fresh faced wannabe apocalypse survivors, there’s this live-action interactive theatre game to experience.

Here’s how Trapped in a Room with a Zombie works: You and a group of people are locked in a room full of puzzles. You have one hour to find the location of the key that will open the door and set you free. However, there is a flesh-hungry zombie chained up in the room with you, and every five minutes its chain gets a little bit longer.

Can you solve puzzles under pressure? That is, the very real pressure of a zombie about to devour your brains?
